Community Development

Community Development staff work directly with city and county leaders to identify issues affecting the jurisdiction and plan and implement solutions. Staff have expertise in areas such as:

2. Building Rehabilitation
3. Infrastructure Maintenance & Replacement
4. Hazard Mitigation Planning
5. Housing Assessments and Rehabilitation
6. Personnel System Development
7. Problem Analysis and Resolution Solutions
8. Grant Funding and Administration

Grant programs are widely available. Commission staff work with local officials to secure an average of $7 to $10 million a year in state and federal grant funds for infrastructure and housing related projects. These projects improve the quality of life and accessibility to affordable housing in the region.
