Transportation
Planning staff work closely with state, local, and metropolitan planning organizations to provide expertise on many transportation related projects. The Commission actively works on projects such as Safe Routes to Schools®, bike and pedestrian programs, Georgia Scenic Byways, corridor management plans and the Transportation Investment Act (TSPLOST) program.
In 2012, the communities in the CSRA region approved the collection of a special purpose local option sales tax for transportation (TSPLOST) for the next ten years. The Regional Transportation Roundtable is currently developing an investment list to be presented to voters in the 13 county region during the March Predisential Primary and Special Election. The investment list willl be posted here once it has been finalized.
